What is Michiganpoets.org?

Most simply, the site will gather and promote poets living and writing in Michigan.

Each entry will include a biography, a list of published works, photo, and links to the poet’s own website or work. The ad-free site will be accessible to all as a way to discover and explore contemporary poets living and writing in Michigan, from the Lower Peninsula to the UP, from Detroit to West Michigan.

We hope the site will give visibility to the wide range of poetic voices and aesthetics across Michigan’s literary landscape.

Where are we?

The project is underway–we’ve acquired the domain, are building the website, and are beginning to reach out to poets across the state.

Who are we?

We are a two-person team: Helena is a poet who teaches creative writing at Albion College.

Laurie Posner is a poet with a deep history in non-profit work; she currently runs her own consulting business.

They live in Ann Arbor.
